ABOUT BEZA

Beza International Ministries is a multi-faceted Christian organization founded by Dr. Betta and Sophia Mengistu. The organization is based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and conducts ministry activities in Ethiopia and around the world.

Our mission statement is “Empowering People With the Word of God to Reach Their Destiny”.We are committed to spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ by sharing the truth of God’s Word – through biblical discipleship and leadership development activities – and the compassion of God’s heart – through humanitarian outreach. Through these efforts, our ministry seeks to see individuals, communities and society at large positively transformed.

Beza International Ministries is registered as a non-profit organization in Ethiopia and we are represented internationally by The Beza Fund, based in South Carolina, USA. Our offices are located on the 5th floor of TK International Building on Bole Road, in Addis Ababa.

STATEMENT OF BELIEFS

1. GOD: We believe that there is one God, existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Gen.1:1; 26;27; Ps.90:2; Mt.3:16-17; Mt.28:19; Deut.6:4; 2Cor.13:14; 1Peter 1:2

2. THE WORD OF GOD: We believe the Bible to be the infallible and authoritative word of God, the source and sustainer of all things, and the foundation in which we place our trust. Jn.1:1; 2Tim3:16; 2Thes.2:13; Hebrews 1:3; 2Peter1:19-21

3. CONDITION OF MAN: We believe in the sinful condition of man, separating us from God, and for mankind’s need for salvation. Gen.2:17; Rom.3:23; Rom.5:12

4. SALVATION THROUGH JESUS CHRIST: We believe God’s love for mankind has been revealed in His Son, Jesus Christ. Through the shedding of His blood on the cross at Calvary, He was made to be the perfect sacrifice for human sin. He has become our substitute, and has made a way for mankind to have access to the Father once again. We believe man is saved from sin and accepted by God not by works, but by believing and confessing Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Mt.1:21; Rom.3:24; Rom.6:23; Rom.10:9-13; Eph.2:8-9; 12-13; Titus 3:4

5. THE HOLY SPIRIT: We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit as a gift given by Jesus to the believer subsequent to salvation. The Holy Spirit helps us to know God better, and empowers the believer for purposeful living, and effective ministry. Joel 2:28; Luke 3:16; Acts 1:4-5; Acts 2:1-4; Acts 8:14-17; Acts 18:24-19:7

6. THE CHURCH: We believe the fellowship of believers, the Church of Jesus Christ, is the body of which He is the head. We believe in the mandate of the Church to be the agent through which God’s kingdom purposes are carried out in the earth. We believe in its order and structure as God intended for it to be. Ex.25:9; 40; Mt.16:19; 1Cor.12:12-14; Eph.2:19-10; Eph.4:11-16; Hebrews 3:6;12:22-24; Rev.2-3

7. THE BLESSING OF THE LORD: We believe that God’s purpose for mankind is for them to be blessed and to reign in life – body, soul and spirit; to be fruitful and increase, to multiply and have dominion in the earth. We believe God desires for His people to be agents through which the kingdom of God is established on earth. Gen.1:28; 9:1;7; Gen.12:2-3; Ex.23:25; Deut.28:1-14; Prov.10:22; Malachi 3:10;  Rom.5:17; Gal.3:13-14; Eph.1:3

8. THE SECOND COMING: We believe in the literal return of Christ to the earth in glory, at a time known only to the Father. We believe there will be a resurrection of both the living and the dead. We believe in the judgment seat of Christ, where those who are not in Christ will be eternally separated from God  ,and thos, who are in Christ will rule and reign forever with Him and. Mt.24:27; Acts 1:7;11; Rev.20:11-15; Mt.25:31-46; Acts 1:7;11; Rom.2:1-9

CORE VALUES

The Supremacy of the Word of God
The Word is the primary agent through which God communicates and reveals Himself to mankind. It is His highest priority, and is therefore ours.

The Supremacy of Relationship
We believe that the evidence of the Word at work in our lives is not in how much we know, but in how much we love.  The fullness of God in the earth is not experienced through information alone, but through relationship. If we have made room for relationship, we have made room for God.
